These sentences for a strong apology.

or
I am really sorry I am late.
When you are late for an appointment.

Sorry to keep you waiting. I won't be long
Someone is waiting to see you and you are busy.

Note:
In formal situation, we often use apologise and apology:
I must apologies for bieng late.
I would like to apology for the delay.
Please accept our apologies for the mistakes in your order.
