Recent discounts listed on the NUS website include 10 per cent off purchases of selected items at HMV (a music and DVD retail chain), Topshop / Topman (a chain of fashionable clothes shops), ShoeZone (shoe shops), Peacocks (a chain of family clothing stores) and Argos (homeware and hardware). Ask at your Students' Union for details of the latest student discounts or check online at www.nusonline.co.uk. Student discounts are also available on most UK travel.

What are the benefits?

What does it cost?
NUS Extra costs just £10, not bad for something that’s going to save you a whole load of cash throughout the year. Who is eligible?
Only students can get hold of an NUS Extra. Either buy direct here from www.nusextra.co.uk/buy and collect your card from your Students’ Union or go down to the Union and ask to purchase the card. The card is sold to you by your Students’ Union, so they will be able to deal with any queries you may have.
The important thing is you have to be a current student, so if you’re studying at the moment and you want to apply online now for your card, you just need a credit or debit card and a photo on your PC that you can upload to our site.
Valid until September 2008, cardholders can expect to save a lot of money and enjoy some great opportunities for a small cost.
Two cards for the price of one

How can I get an NUS Extra card?
You can buy a card here or go down to your Students’ Union to buy one.
Go to your Students’ Union, provide proof that you’re a student there i.e. enrolment letter, library card etc, and have cash, a debit card or a credit card handy. Your Students’ Union will help you with the rest and within a few, short minutes you’ll be a new NUS Extra card member.
If you buy online, then you will need to take proof of your student status to your Students’ Union in order to collect your card as they will need to verify that you are a current student. The only way we can get the very best deals for you is to ensure that only students get this special little card, so that’s why we do this check.
