Materials:
4 ply yarn : your choice of color
small amount of contrasting color
G hook
Top:
Row 1: ch 32, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 hdc in ea ch across,
ch 2,turn.
Rows 2-6: 1 hdc in each st across. ch 2, turn.
Row 7: 1 hdc in first 6 sts, ch 18, skip 18 sts, 1 hdc in each of
remaining 6 sts.ch 2, turn.
Rows 8-13: 1 hdc in each st across. (including the ch of the
skipped 18).
Sides:
Row 14: ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around entire top piece, in back
loops this row only. join to beginnning ch 2. you will now work in
rounds.
Row 15: ch 3, 1 hdc around, make 1 dec over 2 sts on each
corner. Join.
(dec= yo, insert hook into st, yo, pull up a loop, keeping loop
on hook, yo, and insert into next st, yo and pull up a loop, then
yo and pull thru all loops on hook, =one dec made over 2 sts.)
Row 16=24: ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around. join. end off.
Ruffles:
On top edge where you worked in the backloops....attach
contrasting yarn, ch 3, sc in next free loop, * ch 3, sc in next free
loop, repeat * around.
on bottom edge. attach contrasting yarn, and repeat same as
for top edge. end off.
