الدرس السادس: An explanation of the main four tenses

In The Name Of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful

Hello
As we all know, many of us have a problem with tenses
so in this topic they will be explained in a very simple way

First let's start with the simple tense
( المضارع البسيط)
(1)
Simple Present

we use this tense when we express an event that happens usually or habitually
He walks one hour everyday -
or when we talk about facts
The sky is blue -

(2)
Simple Past
(الماضي البسيط)
we use this tense when we talk about something that began and ended at a particular time in the past
It snowed yesterday -
I visited my friend before two weeks -

(3)
Simple Future
(المستقبل)
this tense is used when we talk about something that will happen at a particular time in the future
I will watch television tonight -
She will come tomorrow -

Now we will discuss the progressive tense

(1)
Present Progressive

this tense is used when we talk about something that happened in the past and in progress in the present time and probably will continue.
Nora is sleeping right now -

(2)
Past Progressive

Nora was sleeping when I arrived -
Nora went to sleep at 10.00 last night, I arrived at 11.00. she was still asleep
her sleep began before and was in progress at particular time in the past
It continued after I arrived.

(3)
Future Progressive

Nora will be sleeping when I arrive -
Nora will go to sleep at 10.00 tomorrow night. I will arrive at 11.00
the action of sleeping will begin before I arrive and it will be in progress at a particular time in the future
probably her sleep will continue

The perfect tense

(1)
Present Perfect
(المضارع التام)
Nora has already eaten -
Nora finished eating sometime before now, but it is not mentioned because it is not important

(2)
Past Perfect
(الماضي التام)Nora had already eaten when her friend arrived -
first Nora finished eating . then her friend arrived

(3)

Future Perfect
(المستقبل التام)
Nora will already have eaten when her friend arrives -
fisrt Nora will finish eating. then her friend will arrive

The perfect progressive tense

(1)
Present Perfect Progressive

Nora has been studying for two hours -
it expresses an event that is in progress, it is before now, up to now and will continue for two hours

(2)
Past Perfect Progressive

Nora had been studying for two hours before her friend came -
it expresses two events, one in progress (studying) before another event in the past (coming of her friend)

(3)
Future Perfect Progressive

Nora will have been studying for two hours by the time her friend arrives -
also it expresses two events, one in progress which is (studying) before another event in the future

The End

Of course there are more details
but these are the main points that will help you to understand the details

If you want to make sure of your understanding, give an example for each

and may God bless you
