What do we mean by The Simple Past Tense?
ماذا نقصد بزمن الماضي البسيط
The simple past expresses an action in the past taking place once, never, several times. It can also be used for actions taking place one after another or in the middle of another action
هو الزمن الذي يتحدث عن نشاط أو حدث أو فعل معين حدث في الماضي أو حدث وإنتهى في الماضي
الكلمات (الظروف) الداله على زمن الماضي البسيط هى كالآتي
ago - in the past - yesterday - once` one day ` the other day ` last year,week ,month ,night... , in 1990
منذ - في الماضي - أمس - ذات مرة - السنة،الشهر،الأسبوع، الليلة الماضية ...الخ ، تاريخ في الماضي مثلاً 1990
How to Form the Simple Past Tense
كيف نصيغ جمل في زمن الماضي البسيط
For irregular verbs, use the past form. For regular verbs, just add “ed
هناك صياغتين للماضي البسيط :
أولا : الصيغة المنتظمة (الغير شاذة) Regular Verbs
وهي
Subject+ V-ed + Complement
الفاعل ثم الفعل مضافا له حرفي ed ثم بقية الجملة سواء كان فيها مفعول به أو لا
بكل بساطة تكون بإضافة فقط حرفي (ed) إلى نهاية الفعل فيصبح الفعل ماضي، ولكن كيف نعرف الأفعال المنتظمة من غيرها ؟
الجواب هو :: بحفظ الأفعال الشاذة (غير المنتظمة) وبذلك يكون أي فعل غير منتظم يعتبر فعل منتظم
Example
مثال
He visits his parents
هو يزور والديه
عند تحويلها إلى الماضي تصبح::
He visited his parents yesterday
هو زار والديه بالأمس
* إذاً visit فعل منتظم لذلك عندما أردنا تحويل الجملة إلى الماضي البسيط أضفنا ed إلى نهايته
Exceptions in spelling when adding ed
بعض القواعد عند اضافة الـed إلى الفعل
1- إذا كان الفعل أساساً ينتهي بحرف الـ e فإننا نكتفي بإضافة الـ d فقط كما في love > loved
2- إذا كان الحرف الذي يسبق الحرف الأخير حرف علة فإنه يضاعف كما في travel > travelled
3- إذا أتى حرف الـy بعد حرف صحيح فإنه يحول إلى ied
* القاعدة ليست عامة ولا تخلو من الاستثناءات
ثانيا: الصيغة الشاذة Irregular verbs
وهي
Subject+Irregular verbs + Complement
الفاعل ثم الفعل في الصيغة الشاذة ثم بقية الجملة سواء كان فيها مفعول به أو لا
ومن الإسم نلاحظ أنها الصيغة التي لا يضاف لها ed في نهاية الفعل إذاً الصيغة تكون بأن شكل الفعل يتغير تماما من ناحية الكتابة ومن ناحية النطق

قائمة بالأفعال الشاذة- انظري إلى العمود الثاني فقط والترجمة في العمود الرابع

Salma eats her breakfast
سلمى تأكل فطورها
عند تحويلها إلى الماضي تصبح
Salma ate her breakfast 2 hours ago
سلمى أكلت فطورها منذ ساعتين
* إذاً eat فعل غير منتظم لذلك عندما أردنا تحويل الجملة إلى الماضي البسيط تحول إلى ate كما هو موجود بالقائمة السابقة

ملاحظة : تتكون الجمله فى زمن الماضي البسيط مع جميع الضمائر بطريقة واحده سواء كان ضمير مفرد أو جمع أو مذكر أو مؤنث يكون الاختلاف فى تصريف الفعل الاساسي فقط
