Definition:
A noun is a word used to refer to people, animals, objects, substances, states, events and feelings. Nouns can be a subject or an object of a verb, can be modified by an adjective and can take an article or determiner
مفهوم الأسماء :
الإسم كلمة تستخدم للإشارة إلى الناس أو الحيوانات أو الأشياء أو المواد أو الحالات أو الأحداث أو المشاعر ، الإسم ممكن أن يكون فاعل أو مفعول به لفعل معين ، والإسم ممكن أن يُخصص بصفة وممكن ان يأخذ اداة تعريف أو أداة تحديد
For example
مثال على الأسماء
Table - Pencil - The cat - A white house ...etc
طاولة - قلم - القطة - بيت أبيض ...الخ
Nouns also denote abstract and intangible concepts
الأسماء ممكن ان تكون أيضاً كلمات مجردة ( غير محسوسة ولا ملموسة )
For example

birth - happiness - evolution - technology ... etc
ولادة - سعادة - تطور - تكنولوجيا .. الخ
Noun Plurals
We are going to explain some rules that will help you to form the plural forms of the nouns. The general rule is to add "-s" to the noun in singular
الأسماء في حالة الجمع
سوف أشرح بعض القواعد البسيطة والتي سوف تساعدك أن تجعلي الإسم في حالة الجمع والقاعدة العامة تقول إذا أردنا تحويل الإسم في حالة المفرد إلى جمع فإننا نضيف له (s)

منزل >> منازل
كرسي >> كراسي
* في هذه الحالة تحول الإسم المفرد إلى جمع بمجرد إضافة حرف الـ s

When the singular noun ends in: -sh, -ch, -s, -ss, -x, -o we form their plural form by adding "-es"
إذا كان الإسم المفرد ينتهي بـ sh أو ch أو s أو ss أو x أو o فإننا عندما نريد أن نحوله إلى إسم في حالة الجمع فقط نضيف es لآخره

brush >> brushes
bus >> buses
box >> boxes
potato >> potatoes
ساندويتش >> ساندويتشات
فرشاة >> فرش
صندوق >> صناديق
بطاطة >> بطاط
..
When the singular noun ends in "y", we change the "y" for "i" and then add "-es" to form the plural form. But do not change the "y" for "ies" to form the plural when the singular noun ends in "y" preceded by a vowel
إذا كان الإسم المفرد ينتهي بحرف الـ y ونريد أن نحوله إلى جمع فإننا نحول حرف الـy إلى i ومن ثم نضيف es ، لكن لا يحول حرف الـ y إلى ies إذا كان عبارة عن صوت ينطق ونسمعه في الكلمة مثل day ( ديي ) << ينطق ونسمعه أما nappy ( نابي) لا ينطق ولا نسمعه فإذاً يحول إلى ies وهكذا

لعبة >> ألعاب

when a wod end with "f" or "ef" we usully change the "f" to "v" and adds es or s to make it plural
عادةً إذا أردنا تحويل الأسماء التي تنتهي بـ f أو fe إلى جمع فإننا نغير حرف الـ f
إلى v ومن ثم نضيف es أو s
For example
مثال على ذلك
leaf >> leaves
wife >> wives
ورقة >> أوراق
زوجة >> زوجات
..
However, there are many Irregular Nouns which do not form the plural in this way
هناك بعض الأسماء التي ليس لها نظام معين ولا قاعدة معينة ( شاذة ) إذا أردنا
تحويلها إلى جمع
* هذه الأسماء تعتمد على الحفظ

Types of Nouns
1Proper nouns : are the names of specific things, people, or places, such as Jhon, France. They usually begin with a capital letter.
أنواع الأسماء:
1أسماء العلم : هم أسماء لأشياء محددة مثل الناس ، الأماكن مثل اسم جون أو دولة فرنسا ، ودائماً تبدأ هذه الأسماء بتكبير أول حروفها ( كما أخذنا في الدرس الأول )
2Concrete nouns : refer to things which you can sense such as clock - telephone and cake
2الأسماء غير المجردة ( المحسوسة ): تشمل الاشياء التي نستطيع أن نشعر بها بكل حواسنا الخمس ( البصر - السمع - الشم - التذوق - اللمس ) ومثال على تلك الأسماء : ساعة - تلفون - كيكة
Abstract nouns : refer to ideas or qualities such as liberty and truth
3الأسماء المجردة : تشمل الأسماء غير المحسوسة ( عكس السابقة ) وتشكل الأفكار والقيم ومثال على ذلك : الصدق ، الحرية
Countable nouns refer to things which can be counted ,can be singular or plural
4الأسماء المعدودة : هي الأسماء التي ممكن عدّها وممكن أن تكون مفرد أو جمع
Uncountable nouns refer to some groups of countable nouns, substances, feelings and types of activity ,can only be singular
5الأسماء غير المعدودة : وهي الأسماء التي لا يمكن عدّها مثل أسماء تخص المشاعر أو نوع معين من الأنشطة او بعض المواد التي لا نستطيع عدّها ، تأتي فقط في حالة المفرد
