The Pattern
Begin Miss Pink
Front
With yellow, ch 2.
Round 1: Work 6 sc in the first ch , sl st to first st to join round. Ch 1. Continue to work without turning the piece.
Round 2: Work 2 sc in each st. Sl st to first st to join round . Ch 1. – 12 sc total.
Round 3: Work 2 sc in each st. Sl st to fir st st to join round . Ch 1. – 24 sc.
Round 4: Sc in each of the first two sts, 2 sc in the next st, * sc in each of next two sts, 2 sc in the next st *. Rep *-* around circle. Sl st to first st to join round. Ch 1. – 32 sc.

Round 9: Sc in each of the first five sts, 2 sc in the next st, * sc in each of the next five sts, 2 sc in the next st *. Rep *-* around circle. Sl st to first st to join round. Ch 1. – 56 sc.

Rounds 12-14: Sc in each st around circle without increasing. Sl st to first st to join round. Ch 1.
Round 15: Sc in the first three sts, 2 sc in the next st, * sc in the next three sts, 2 sc in the next st *. Rep *-* around circle, ending with a sc in the last three sts. Sl st to first st to join round. Ch 1. – 108 sc.
Round 16: Sc in each st around circle without increasing. Sl st to first st to join round. Ch 1.
Round 17: Sc in each of the first four sts, 2 sc in the next st, * sc in each of the next 4 sts, 2 sc in the next st *. Rep *-* around circle, ending with a sc in the last three sts. Sl st to first st to join round. Ch 1. – 129 sc.
Round 18: Sc in each st around circle without increasing. Sl st to first st to join round. Ch 1. You have now completed the circle part of the backpack.
Row 19: Sc in first 20 sts, skip 1 sc, 1 sc in the next sc. Ch 1, turn. – 21 sc.
The next rows are the shaping part of the ‘drops’ top.
Row 20: Skip 1 st, 1 sc in the next st and across until there are 2 sts left, skip 1 st, 1 sc in the last st from last row. Ch 1, turn. – 19 sc.
Rep row 20 for eight more rows. At the end of row 28 you will have 3 sts left.
Row 29: Skip 2 sts, 1 sc in the last st from previous row. Ch 1. – 1 sc.
Row 30: Work a sc edge around the drop. Fasten off, weave in tails.
Back
Work s ame as front.
Flower eyes (Make 2)
Ch 2.
Round 1: Work 6 sc in the first ch. Sl st to first sc to join round. Ch 1.
Round 2: Work 2 sc in each sc, changing to contrast color with last sc. Ch 1. – 12 sc.
Round 3: Work * (1 sl st, ch 1, 1 sc, ch 1, 3 dc, ch 1, 1 sc) in first sc from previous row. Sl st into next st *, makes one flower petal and one space between the petals. Rep *-* around circle to work 6 petals in total. Sl st to first st to join. Fasten off and weave in tails.
Strap
Ch 8.
Row 1: Work 1 sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1 and turn. – 7 sc.
Row 2: Sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn.
Rep row 2 until strap is 40 cm long (16”), or to desired length. Please Note: The strap will stretch A LOT, so make it approx. 2/3 of desired length.
Assemble Miss Pink
Attach mid part of flowers as eyes to the front piece and embroider a mouth as shown in picture. Pin one end of the strap to the top right side and the other end to the lower left side. With wrong sides facing, crochet or sew sides of front and back pieces together. Remember to leave a 16cm (5”) opening at the top left side for attaching the zipper. Lastly, sew on zipper with yellow sewing thread.
