Using an H hook: Measures 14 inches long.
Row 1: Chain 3, join with sl st to form a ring. 9 hdc inside the ring.
Row 2: ch1, 2 hdc in same st and in each st around. Join with sl st.
Row 3: ch1, 2 hdc in same st, * 1 hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, repeat from * around.
Row 4: ch 1, 2 hdc in same st, *hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st, repeat from * around.
Row 5: ch 1, 2 hdc in same st, * hdc in next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st, repeat from * around.
Row 6: ch 1, 2 hdc in same st, *hdc in next 4 sts, 2 hdc in next st, repeat from * around.
Row 7: ch 1, 2 hdc in same st, * hdc in next 5 sts, 2 hdc in next st, repeat from * around.
Join with a sl st. You will now begin working in rounds.
Rnd 1: hdc in each st around.
Rnds 2-13: Repeat Rnd 1
Rnd 14: hdc in next 27 sts, chain 10, skip 9 hdc, hdc in remaining sts around.
Rnds 15-16: Repeat rnd 14
Rnd 16: hdc in next 27 sts, ch 5, sc over all ch 10’s by bunching together and doing a hdc into the 5th hdc of the 9 skipped hdc on rnd 14. ch 5, hdc in next hdc and in each st around
Rnd 17-19: hdc in st around. Join with sl st in final round of 19.
Rnds 20-23: ch 1, sc in each st around. Join with sl st in final round of 23.
Mini Shell Border:
Rnd 1: Ch 1, *3 sc in next st, skip next st, 3 sc in next st. Repeat from * around.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, * 3sc in 2nd sc of shell, skip next st, 3 sc in 2nd sc of shell, repeat around.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
