Q1- place of articulation for initial sounds
اتفقنا انو المقصود بيهو المكان البننطق فيه الصوت ومنهم bilabial- alveolar etc

calf = اول صوت عندي هو \k\ وال place of articulation is velar
thigh = اول صوت عندي في كلمة thin ورمزها في الموقع التالي هو29 وال place of articulation is interdental

toe = \t\ place of articulation is alveolar
knee = اول صوت عندي هو \n\ لان ال k لا تلفظ. فهذه الكلمة مثال جيد على ضرورة عدم الخلط بين ال spelling والنطق. ال \n\ ال place of articulation is alveolar

hand= اول صوت \h\ وال place of articulation is glottal

belly = اول صوت \b\ وال place of articulation is bilabial

السؤال السابق ما طلب الرمز لاول صوت بس انا وضعتو لسهولة تحديد ال place of articulation لاول صوت.

wrap نتنتبه: اول صوت هنا هو \r\ ال w لا تلفظ. ال manner of articulation is glide

ache : في هذه الكلمة ال ch تلفظ \k\ وال \k\ عندي voiceless
rice : هنا ال c تلفظ \s\ وهي voiceless
sounds: ال s هنا تلفظ \z\ وهي voiced
rough: بالنسبة لل gh فأنها تلفظ \f\ فهي إذا voiceless
breathe : ال th تلفظ مثل اول صوت في كلمة there فهو voiced
yellow : ال y لفظ \j\ هو voiced . وسبق ان ذكرنا ان كل ال glides بيكونوا voiced

نقطة مهمة:
في كلمة sounds قلنا ان ال s نطقها \z\ لانهو يسبقها voiced sound \d\
اما إذا سبقها a voiceless sound \t\ for example , it is pronounced \s\
اما إذا سبق s الجمع affricate sounds مثل نهاية كلمة watch فيلفظ \Iz\ = كابيتل i + z
