MEDIA SPECIALISTS’ TECHNICAL ASSISTANTS IN THE FIELDS OF IT, MARKETING AND TRAINING
The Media Development Program (MDP) is financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). MDP’s overall approach is to maximize and further build the capacity of Egyptian expertise in achieving the Project’s following main goals:
Building training capacity in Egypt to promote professional development among mid-career media professionals, emerging journalists, and media managers;
Improving the management and economic viability of Egyptian print and broadcast sectors;
Strengthening the professionalism and organizational capacity of local media and
Improving the enabling environment for a professional, objective and economically viable media in Egypt.

MDP IS SEEKING TO HIRE DYNAMIC AND MOTIVATED FRESH GRADUATES IN THE FIELDS OF
BUSINESS, MARKETING AND IT (preferably AUC graduates or with some prior internship USAID experience).
Interested applicants should apply immediately by e-mailing a CV (max 2 pages) together with a one-page cover letter to: hsoliman@mdp-egypt.com . Subject of email: Job Vacancy – Media Technical Assistant.
The cover letter shall identify the candidate’s preferred fields (see below), the reasons for his/her choice as well as his/her viewed strengths and weaknesses. A minimum two (2) and a maximum three (3) FIELDS shall be selected by candidate. A pre-requisite for application is fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic.

In accordance with your fields of interest and career ambitions as well as with MDP’s evaluation of your qualifications and perceived potential and strengths, and following short listing and interviews, selected candidates will assist the MDP Technical Team in the performance of the following tasks:
FIELD A - Project Manager Program:
Input of data/information to be provided by M&E Specialist and Task Managers, into the Project Manager Program
Follow-up with Task Managers to ensure that Project Manager Program is updated with current information
FIELD B - IT:
Data entry, contributions to, monitoring and updating the MDP website;
Assisting IT Specialist in various tasks e.g. inspecting IT labs; IT property management; researching and specifying IT media equipment
FIELD C - Training:
Support and monitor training programs
Prepare and monitor training logistics and handle training materials
Reporting (TraiNet and Training Manager)
Training software expansion and testing
Assist in selecting and evaluating training candidates
FIELD D - Marketing, Research and Advertising:
Report writing and follow up on marketing on activities
Prepare, organize and follow-up of field meetings
Partner Relationship Management Contacts (letters to partners, phone calls)
Assist in the development of IT-based New Media products e.g. mobile telephony
FIELD E - General Office Tasks
Assist the MDP Technical team in logistical and other requirements relating to various types of events
Coordinate activities with partners, consultants and trainers
Monitor media coverage of MDP and media related topics and translation of selected articles
Follow up on MDP activities documents.
