Women should be at home doing home things.
It is thought sinful for a woman to expose herself. They are only allowed to show part of their face. They wear a long dress called Abaya and have a shawl, which is draped over their head and covers the lower face.
Westerners living in Saudi can't wear their ordinary clothes and also have to wear the Abaya, except when they are in their compounds where they live together.
Women are covered except in the presence of their family.
If girls go swimming they have to wear the Abaya even in the water.
If you go into a bookshop you would find that any picture of a women in a magazine, book or newspaper is blacked out except for the eyes.
Women can't drive. They can't go in a car except with their husband or a male relation
Women don't work apart from teaching or caring professions like nursing or medicine. Women are taught and cared for by other women.
Women could not work in a shop.
Women are considered lower rank than men
Men and boys are allowed to go out and about while girls find entertainment in the home.
If the father dies the oldest son gets to drive the family despite his age.
Men are allowed more than one wife. It is Islamic that the woman should beautify herself with the veil of honour, dignity, chastity, purity and integrity.


New Zealand
Women are allowed to wear anything they want. There are no rules. When they go swimming they wear togs or bikinis.
There are no rules about dress.
Women are free to expose themselves to anyone.
Women are free to drive and go anywhere
Women are treated the same way as men. There is a law in New Zealand that prevents decimation in the work place because of gender.
Women are equal to men.
Girls and boys go everywhere.
No one can drive until they are fifteen years old.
Men can have only one wife

Women in New Zealand have a much freer life. They can go anywhere any time and are accepted as equals to men. Women compete with men for the same jobs. In Saudi women are hidden and are not allowed to do as much as men whereas in N.Z men and woman have equal rights.

Generally the food is simple like rice meat and vegetables.
They do not eat any pig products e.g. bacon or ham. They believe cloven-hoofed creatures are unhygienic.

According the Quran you have to eat with the Right hand only. The left is for cleaning the body. Everyone obeys because Allah is watching.
Saudis love eating out but in restaurants there is a separate section for men and families. Men can eat together in the men's section but women have to go to a family. They have to have permission form their husband, father or brother.
Lots of MacDonald's and western takeaways.
Men eat first and the women and children have the leftoversناكل البقايا:mad:.
Families don't eat together. They eat lots of dates. They have lots of date forests.
Two generations ago they lived in villages so all of their food was very simple. Nowadays they have big supermarkets and shopping malls where they buy their food
