بمعنى لكل فعل في الجملة يجب أن يتواجد هناك إسم لمن قام بالفعل
ولكل إسم في الجملة يجب أن يكون هناك فعل يعلمنا بما قام به الشخص...
مثل
________ was backed up for miles on the freeway
1} yesterday
2} in the morning
3} Traffic
4} cars
In this example you should notice immediately that there is a verb was, but there is no subject. Answer (3) is the best answer because it contains the singular subject traffic that agrees with the singular verb was. Answer (1), yesterday, and answer (2), in the morning, is not subjects, so they are not correct. Although answer (4), cars, could be a subject, it is not correct because cars is plural and it does not agree with the singular verb was.
