I hope you're all fine and doing well
today, I'll give you some useful information that help you to write an excellent topic, article or any other piece of writing in a simpler, easier and better way
BECOME A BETTER WRITER
When you wanna write any piece of writing, you should look at the purpose of your writing, and how can it affect on your writing style. There are two questions to ask yourself when you wanna write
?A- What are you writing for
It means what kind of writing piece is it, it could be anything from a fantasy story to a business letter
?B- Who are you writing for
It means who are the readers who’re gonna read your piece of writing
: Different styles for different purposes
Here, the most important thing is to be as clear as possible, and make sure your writing is focused and objective, clear and systemic. That means the answer for the first question “what are you writing for?” will be clear. Let’s see
:Be focused and objective -
You don’t have to give your own opinions on the subject here, but to make the information clear to the readers, so, stick closely to the subject, and don’t add comments of your own
:Be clear and systemic -
The purpose here is to make the point of explanation simpler and clearer than the original, so, you’ve to use vocabulary that is easy to understand, and sentences that are not too long and/or complicated
: Different styles for different audiences
After we’ve looked at the purpose of your writing, or “what are you writing for”, it’s also important to think about the audience, or “who are you writing for”, and how it should affect the way you write
For example: If you’re writing for children, then the vocabulary you use must be simple, and the sentences should be short and not complex
:Planning your writing
The planned writing is always better than the writing that hasn’t been planned
As we said, the way in which you structure a piece of writing depends on the purpose of the piece, and the audience it’s being written for. The structure should always has the following three parts:
Introduction -
Main body of the text -
Conclusion/ending -
:Some ways to plan your writing
There are various methods to plan your writing
:A - Spider diagrams
Here, write your topic in the middle of the page, and around it, write down all the things or ideas you might write about
At this stage, don’t stop to think, just write down all the ideas that come to your mind
In the next stage, you should decide if there are things that need to be discarded/removed, and how to order the points that are being kept
Number the points to give them an order, each numbered point will be a paragraph or a part of a paragraph in your essay
:Tips
At this stage, don’t be afraid to cross things out
If you feel like two of your ideas are closely linked, you should probably combine them together
:B - Lists
Instead of a spider plan, you may prefer simply to put things down in a list
It’s important to look at the whole list again before you start to write
Don’t be afraid to change the order of your points
Don’t automatically think your first ideas are the best, check through the list and discard/replace some points if you have second thoughts
That was two practical ways to plan your writing
Remember, don’t be afraid to spend time on planning, because it’s the most important thing in your writing, which will make your writing better, and help you to finish it in a shorter time
