السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

I had this idea in mind long time ago but I was not sure anyone might join me to talk about our favourite books and discuss them together, so I did not do anything about it. However, today I felt I should give it a try and start this topic and see whether any of you would like to join me and start discussing the books we read in English literature: whether novels, plays or poetry. So, what do you think?? Of course, we can discuss English, Irish or American novels, plays and poetry. I mean I will not restrict the discussion to a certain type of writing or to old literature only.z

For instance, one of my most favourite modern American fiction writers is John Grisham, and nowadays I am reading his novel "Pelican Brief" for the second time. This novel has been turned into a movie starring Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington. I adore Grisham's style of writing and though he writes about law and lawyers all the time, he has a very simple style that makes your eyes fixed to the book until you come to the last paragraph of it!z

Grisham also wote famous books that turned to famous movies such as: The firm (starring Tom Cruise), The Rainmaker, The Chamber, A Time To Kill

So, anyone has ever read for Grisham or even seen the movies?? Anyone wants to discuss this novel "Pelican Brief" or any other work of fiction for any writer?? I am here waiting for you and looking forward to our interesting discussions

Best Regards

Noody

wow, Um Abeeha is here!!! Welcome to my little den!!! :) Thanks a lot for passing by and for telling me your opinion. So, tell me, do you like Grisham's style?? Did you read "The Client" or watch the movie?? This one was starring Susan Sarandon and was also great. I really adore this man's style very much, and you see most of his books are successful and this is why Hollywood turned them into movies immediately

So, tell me who are your other favourite writers and favourite books?? Let's continue the discussion and encourage me to go on, huh?? :)z

As for The Pelican Brief's movie, it's really good but the novel is greater because it is in much detail, of course, and what's great about Grisham's style is that you can visualize all the scenes without having to see them in a movie. What do you think? z

hi amoool how r u ? i am very angry with, don't ask me why bacause u know the reason .
i like american literature very much , i like an american writer which is called "lois lowry " she is still alive . i like her novel "the giver" she talks about human connections
in her novels people live in a city which is cosidered utopian but underneath appears the great faults of human beings
i will return again noody to talk more about ur interesting topic

interesting topic... Noody30

for me, I'm limited to the works I've studied in college

I've tried couple of years age to read Mark Twain's novel "Tom Sawyer"
but I didn't finish it

Then, I studied it last year in college
It's a simple novel, I mean in its general idea
also, its language is very easy

I,m sure you know it, or heard of it at least
It's turned into a movie and a cartoon :)i

Actually, I don't consider it my favorate work
There're much greater novels I've studied
Like "Pride and Prejudice"...i
" Great Expectations"

Thanx a lot Noody30 for this
you encouraged me to try to read new works

:)
