3D Beaded Pansies
Previous These pretty beaded pansies can be used as embellishments on the front or flap of an amulet bag, as button or drop style earrings, as a pendant on a necklace or woven into a freeform-style beaded necklace or bracelet.
To make them, you will need two colors of size 11 seed beads and a working knowledge of Brick Stitch. The Beaded Pansies shown were made with used Delicas in Metallic Fuchsia and Silver Lined Purple. Both of these colors are subject to wear and fading, so, while they are beautiful, they are not highly recommended. They do look nice though and a little spritz of clear protectant spray such as Krylon will help keep them looking nice longer. They will last longer if they are worn gently and not subjected to abrasions.
Bead the Bottom Petal
Using Brick stitch, bead the bottom petal of the 3-D Beaded Pansy using the shades as indicated in the bead colors you choose.
Bead the Top Petal
Using brick Stitch again, bead the top petal of the 3-D beaded pansy using the lighter shade of your bead colors.
Bead the Two Side Petals
Make two of these side petals
Still working in Brick Stitch, bead the two side petals of the 3-D beaded Pansy in the lighter shade of your beads. Be sure to bead two of these petals
Attach the Top and Bottom Petals
Attach the Top and Bottom PetalsUsing the thread path sown below, attach the top and bottom petals of th 3-D Beaded Pansy.
Attach the Side Panels
Now turn the two attached petals over so that the side with the bottom petal on top of the top petal is facing you. Then use the thread path shown below to attach the side petals.
Add One Bead Between the Side Petals
Finally add one bead between the two side petals using the following thread path and you are done
