I want to learn but I do not know enough words. I know some basic words. How long could it take to learn (become proficient).
Very good sentence formation. Your vocabulary isn't bad at all. My best suggestion (and probably the only suggestion that any English teacher abroad would use) is to read, read, and read some more. Start with children's stories. They're fun to read and relatively easy.

How was everyone's Friday? Hopefully a little more exciting than mine :) We spend most of our Fridays just lazily passing the hours away. We did go out last night to buy a few items, one of which was a scale that I've been nagging my husband to get. So we go into Nahdi Pharmacy and I quickly pick the Omron scale they have there for 175 riyals. We proceed to the cashier's counter to check out and the pharmacist working the shift starts asking questions about why we're purchasing the scale? Who'll be using it? Is it for diet purposes or not? Putting aside that my husband got annoyed by the questions, what really ticked both of us off is the awful and constant gum chewing that went on during the entire conversation. Each time the guy said something it took me 4-5 seconds just to process what he meant. He wasn't chewing gum in a normal or subtle manner. No, it was with full mouth and jaw movement with clicking sounds. Maybe I'm old fashioned but chewing gum for somebody who is supposed to be a professional on the job is just a no-no. What's your stance on the matter?
On the bright side, the scale is really nice. It's one of those super sleek digital designs that doesn't need any tapping/zeroing before you step on and it reads your weight extremely fast compared to all my old ones.

Does anybody know why I'm blocked from starting a new thread in some sections?
