Two of The Past Tenses
1.Simple Past
Simple Past Used to show a completed action
يستخدم الماضي البسيط للدلالة على عمل تام منتهي
Example:
• I studied English last Saturday
كلمات تستخدم للماضي البسيط:
Last => Saturday, Monday, night, time, month, week…..etc
Yesterday
Ago =>( two years ago, two weeks ago, four months ago…..etc)
In the past
When => (when she ate her dinner, her father had come)

2. Past Progressive/Continuous
Often used to say when something was being done or what was happening when something else happened
يستخدم عادة لتبيان ما تم عند فعل شيء ما أو ماذا كان يحدث عندما حدث شيء آخر
يعني بتلاحظين أن الماضي البسيط و الماضي المستمر مع بعض في جملة واحدة (متصلان ببعضهما البعض)
Example:
• I was studying English last Monday when my friend rang.
كنت أدرس مادة الإنجليزي الاثنين الماضي عندما رنت صديقتي الجرس
• I was studying English at 5pm last Monday.
كنت أدرس الإنجليزية الساعة الخامسة مساءا الاثنين الماضي
• While I was studying English, my father came in
عندما كنت أدرس الإنجليزية دخل أبي
تلاحظين إن الماضي المستمر طبعا ياخذ الآي إن جي بعد الفعل المساعد طبعا
للماضي المستمر المفرد ناخذ واز مثل :
I was playing a piano
She was studying English
He was studying English
The cat was sleeping
أما للماضي المستمر الجمع أو المخاطب يو ناخذ وير مثل:
They were playing chess
We were talking
You were writing homework
