We must be in different areas of the world. Fridays here mean no work or school. Sometimes I can get away with no cooking as well like today. Last year we had family commitments every Friday but we recently moved to the Eastern province and none of us have family here. Therefore, I lazily pass the hours away. Having children in daycares or schools means having to continuously filter out the bad stuff they pick up. What worsens it is their tendency to absorb the bad much quicker than the good. My eldest has me pulling out my hair at times. I think the age of two, albeit named the terrible twos, is fascinating. The new words, the sentence formation, the innocent remarks, are all just too cute. May Allah bless your little girl and may she grow into the strong woman you hope for. Have fun in school. I've had more than enough schooling in my lifetime....well at least for now.

Salam Hanan,

Stereotyping and racism are ugly things. Our great prophet said
"دعوها فإنها منتنة"
Therefore I do not entertain any form of such acts. I lived in both the US and Canada . Finished my studies from the US and had my first child there then moved to Canada where I worked for a while but then became a full time stay-at-home mom. Living in the west had its pros and cons. The biggest con was raising kids there. That was the main reason we moved back. We simply had had enough.

Today was a busy day for me. Spent it looking for furniture and appliances to furnish our new place. I cannot count the number of times I've moved in my lifetime. How do you spend your weekends?

Salam dear,
Peace be upon him,
Well, I said it in purpose..
We're thinking of moving to Canada.. I no longer feel I belong in here.. I'm sick of the moral degeneracy we're living in.. However paradoxical this may sound, I'd better live in Canada - for instance- than living here forced to deal with these catastrophes ...
Usually at home, cleaning all day long then do the assignments i'm asked to, but this
weekend -out of the ordinary- I'm at my in-laws, my mother in law had a surgery ..-please keep her in your duaa-

Salam Hanan,
May Allah bless your mother-in-law and may her recovery be sooner than expected.
I know what you mean when you say that living in the West might be easier for a practicing Muslim than one's own home. It's a sad reality. Everything was nice until my eldest got closer to the teen years. Furthermore, there were no Islamic schools in the small city where we lived. That only led to more conflicts in my boy's head. If indeed you decide to make the move, make sure you consider the Islamic school situation and the Muslim community as a whole.

I guess your weekend is coming to an end so enjoy the final hours.
