ونقول ايضا :
You can give a broad summary of something (NOT wide)
You can describe something some thing in great detail (NOT big)
وبعض الصفات يكون استخدامها مع عدد محصور من الاسماء:
فمثلا الصفة formidable تستخدم مع الاسماء التالية :

Register is defined as : the overall tone of a text or conversation , and the relationship that is built between the speaker & listener , or speaker and reader
Formal & informal words
تندرج معظم الكلمات تحت التصنفان السابقان وهناك تصنيف ثالث وهو ال neutral = محايدة
مثال:
كلمة specs تصنف informal
spectacles = formal
glasses= neutral
Spoken & writtenهناك كلمات تستخدم في المحادثة فقط ولا يمكن استخدامها في الكتابة والعكس صحيح.. مثلا ، كلمة mind you تستخدم في اللغة المحكية ( من ضمن التمارين ان تبحثن عن معناها)
Outdated words
بعض الكلمات \ العبارات تكون صحيحة ولكن استخدامها يصنف كا ستخدام قديم للكلمة مثل
frock = dress
